You can turn 10 plat/day just selling materials to mats vendors. The money sinks in this game are nonexistant post-20th, and fairly trivial up till then.

Best thing you can do? Buy the expert salvage kits and salvage anything that sells for less then 50gold. Then, when selling stuff back, compare the materials vendor to the merchant and to the going player market rate and sell your stuff accordingly.

People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them to only use the expert kits. They don't understand that it only takes one rare salvage per kit in most cases to cover the cost of the kit. The rest is pure profit!

Be very careful about trying to salvage for upgrades you plan on selling. There is very little market for many of them, and you don't have the storage space or automated auction setup to store indefinately, or move it quickly. You'll end up salvaging a 100 gold weapon for a weapon upgrade you can't sell to anybody, wasting your time and your salvage kit.

Hmm... it's been fixed now, but there were 4 crates u could open out in the arid sea(i think) that dropped 1-3 orange rares each lol... right beside the end of one the ATT quests. So, i just hiked up there picked it all up, reset, & sell. managed to get a Dragon Sword doin it even.

I didn't bother to read the whole post, as it's huge.. so if anyone said this before, my bad.

Charr carvings = 3gold each at merchant
Salvage kit on carvings => 1 wood plank.

3+4=7, 1 wood plank=10. u gain 3 gold each and every time

I dont do that tho, i only use expert kits now. call me nuts but u get more money that way

Here's the way I turned 800 gold into 3.4 platinum in presearing on my ranger:

1. Collect all the gold you can by selling everything you don't need. It works best if you are doing this with a guildmate or friend you trust, since you will have double the money to work with. Your chars must be in the presear.
2. Go to every town and offer to buy all dyes for a flat rate somewhere from 75 gold to 150 gold each, and then 250 gold for silvers and 1p for black dyes.
3. Spend all of your money on dyes
4. Do the mission to get to post searing, sell the dyes for the regular price and make a huge amount of profit.

I also make some profit and help people out by selling the nice desert collector weapons in ascalon. They are easy to get, have nice stats, and sell for a bit so its good for everybody.
